Yajurveda Chapter 38 - (19 verses)
१७२६. उदु त्यं जातवेदसं देवं वहन्ति केतवः । दशे विश्वस्य सूर्यम् ॥ १३१ ॥
The rays carry aloft that radiant Sun, the knower of all, the divine light of the universe.
वेदी के प्रकाशमान सूर्य देव को, जो सब कुछ जानते हैं, किरणें ऊपर उठाती हैं।
१७२७. येना पावक चक्षसा भुरण्यन्तं जनाँर । अनु त्वं वरुण पश्यसि ॥ १३२ ॥
O Varuna, by Your fiery gaze, You see all beings in their entirety.
हे वरुण, आप अपनी तेजस्वी दृष्टि से समस्त प्राणियों को पूर्ण रूप से देखते हैं।
१७२८. द्यौयावव्युं आ गत धंरथेन सूर्यस्य । वेनश्चित्रं देवानाम् ॥ १३३ ॥
The sun, with its radiant chariot, brings forth the heavens and the earth, illuminating the divine wonders.
सूर्य अपने तेजस्वी रथ से स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी को लाता है, जो देवताओं के अद्भुत प्रकाश को प्रकट करता है।
१७२९. आ नड इडाभिर्विधे सुराशिस्तं विशाशनः । सविता देव एतु । अपि यथा युवानो मतस्त्वा नो विश्वं जगदभिपत्त्वे मनीषा ॥ १३४ ॥
May the divine Savitr, the bestower of life, come to us with abundant blessings. May our intellect, like that of the young, encompass and govern the entire world.
हे सविता देव, अपनी कृपाओं से हम पर प्रसन्न हों, और हमारी बुद्धि युवा की भांति सम्पूर्ण विश्व को व्याप्त करे।
१७३०. यदच कच्च वृत्रहनुदगाऽ अभि सूर्यम् । सर्वं तदिन्द्र ते वशे ॥ १३५ ॥
O Indra, whatever the sun, the slayer of Vritra, has reached, all that is under Your control.
हे इन्द्र, वृत्रहन् सूर्य जहाँ तक पहुँचता है, वह सब आपके वश में है।
१७३१. तरणिविर्धदर्शतो ज्योतिष्कृदसि सूर्य । विश्वमा भासि रोचनम् ॥ १३६ ॥
O Sun, you are the source of light, illuminating the entire universe with your brilliance.
हे सूर्य, आप प्रकाश के स्रोत हैं, अपनी दीप्ति से संपूर्ण विश्व को प्रकाशित करते हैं।
१७३२. तत्सूर्यस्य देवत्वं तन्महितत्वं मध्या कर्तीवृतंश् चं जभार । यददयुत हरितः सधस्थदात्री वास्तनुते सिमरमै ॥ १३७ ॥
The divine brilliance of that Sun, its greatness, and its radiant form were borne by the swift horses. It bestows the abode of all beings and sustains them.
उस सूर्य का देवत्व, उसकी महानता और उसका तेजस्वी रूप शीघ्रगामी अश्वों द्वारा धारण किया गया है, जो सभी प्राणियों के निवास का दाता है और उनका पोषण करता है।
१७३३. तन्मिन्नस्य वरुणस्याभिचक्षे सूर्यो रूपं कृणुतं धोरूपस्थे । अनन्तमन्ययुग्दस्य पाः कृष्णमन्यदृष्टितः सं भरन्ति ॥ १३८ ॥
The sun assumes the form of Varuna, the lord of waters, to behold the world. One eye is infinite, the other is dark, and they fill the heavens with their gaze.
सूर्य वरुण का रूप धारण कर जग को देखता है, एक नेत्र अनंत है और दूसरा अंधकारमय, जो अपनी दृष्टि से स्वर्ग को भर देते हैं।
१ ९ ४ ४ . नम्रायै पुंश्लृं ह्सायै कारि यादसे शाल्व्यां ग्रामण्यै गणकमभिक्रोशकं तान्महसे वीणावादं पाणिघ्नं तृणवध्वं ताञ्छायानान्दय ॥ २० ॥
Bring forth the humble, the eloquent, the skilled, the village leader, the singer, the great musician, the lute player, the hand-clapper, and the grass-dancer, and delight them with shade.
विनम्र, वाक्पटु, कुशल, ग्रामणी, गायक, महान संगीतकार, वीणावादक, ताली बजाने वाले और घास पर नृत्य करने वाले को लाओ, और उन्हें छाया से आनंदित करो।
१ ९ ४ ५ . अग्नये पीवानं पृथिव्यै पीठसर्पणं वायवे चाण्डालमन्तरिक्षाय वंश्शनांर्तनिं दिवे खलतिष्ठं सूर्य ह्यक्षं नक्षत्रेभ्यः किमिंरं चन्द्रमसे किलासमहं शुक्लै पिङ्क्षाक्षं रात्र्यै कृष्णं पिङ्क्षाक्षम् ॥ २१ ॥
To Agni, the stoutness; to Earth, the crawling; to Vayu, the outcast; to the atmosphere, the destruction; to the heavens, the baldness; to the Sun, the eye; to the stars, the insect; to the Moon, the leprosy; to the bright ones, the speckled eye; to the night, the black, speckled eye.
अग्नि के लिए स्थूलता, पृथ्वी के लिए रेंगना, वायु के लिए चांडाल, अंतरिक्ष के लिए विनाश, स्वर्ग के लिए गंजापन, सूर्य के लिए नेत्र, नक्षत्रों के लिए कीड़ा, चंद्रमा के लिए कोढ़, उज्ज्वल के लिए चितकबरा नेत्र, और रात्रि के लिए काला, चितकबरा नेत्र है।
१ ९ ४ ६ . अर्थेतान्नष्टौ विरूपाना लभतेतितदीर्घं चातिहस्वं चातिस्थूलं चाति कृशं चातिशुक्लं चाति कृष्णं चाति कुल्चं चातिलोमशं च । अशुद्राऽब्राहाणान्ते प्राजापत्याः मागधः पुंश्कली किन्त्वः क्लीबी ऽशुद्राऽब्राहाणान्ते प्राजापत्याः ॥ २२ ॥
He who does not obtain these eight, such as the deformed, the excessively long, the excessively short, the excessively stout, the excessively lean, the excessively white, the excessively black, the excessively bald, and the excessively hairy, is not a Sudra or a Brahmana, but a Prajapati, a Magadha, a Puskali, a Kintva, a Kliba, a Sudra, or a Brahmana.
जो इन आठ प्रकार के (विकृत, अति दीर्घ, अति हस्व, अति स्थूल, अति कृश, अति शुक्ल, अति कृष्ण, अति कुल्च और अति लोमश) को प्राप्त नहीं करता, वह न तो शूद्र है और न ही ब्राह्मण, बल्कि प्रजापति, मागध है।
१. समिद्ध इन्द्र उषसामनीके पुरोऽर्चिर्बृहदुत्थानः । त्रिभिर्देवैर्विंशं शतं वज्रबाहुर्जुघान वृत्रं वि दुरो ववार ॥१३६ ॥
Indra, the radiant, ablaze with the dawn's light, with his mighty arms wielding the thunderbolt, slew Vritra, the obstructer, and opened the gates.
हे इन्द्र, उषाकाल के प्रकाश से दीप्त, वज्रधारी, तुम वृत्र को मारकर द्वारों को खोलते हो।
ईशा वास्यमिदं सर्वं यत्किञ्च जगत्यां जगत् । तेन त्यक्तेन भुञ्जीथा मा गृधः कस्य स्विद्धनम् ॥१॥
All this universe, whatever moves in it, is enveloped by the Lord. Therefore, renounce and enjoy; do not covet anyone's wealth.
यह सम्पूर्ण जगत, जो भी चलायमान है, ईश्वर से व्याप्त है। इसलिए, त्यागपूर्वक भोग करो, किसी के धन का लोभ मत करो।
२. नरशं सः प्रति शूरों विमानस्तनून् सम्भञ्न् हिरण्यैश्चन्द्री यजति प्रचेताः ॥१३७ ॥
The intelligent one, a hero among men, destroys the bodies of enemies with his chariot, and worships with gold.
हे वीर, तू अपने रथ से शत्रुओं के शरीरों को नष्ट कर और स्वर्ण से पूजन कर।
कुर्वन्नेवेहकर्माणि जिजीविषेच्छत समाः । एवं त्वयि नान्यथेतोऽस्ति न कर्म लिप्स्यते नरे ॥२॥
Perform your actions in this world with the desire to live for a hundred years. In this way, and no other, will action not cling to you.
कर्म करते हुए ही सौ वर्ष जीने की इच्छा रखो, क्योंकि इस प्रकार कर्म तुम्हें लिप्त नहीं करेगा।
३. ईडितो देवैर्हरिभिरभिरराजुहानो हविषा शर्धमानः । पुरन्दरों गोत्रभिद्भृजबाहुरायातु यजमुप नो जुषान् ॥१३८ ॥
May Indra, praised by gods and heroes, radiant with offerings, the destroyer of forts, the slayer of Vritra, with mighty arms, come to our sacrifice and be pleased.
हे देवों और वीरों द्वारा पूजित, हविष्य से दीप्तिमान, पुरों को नष्ट करने वाले, वृत्रहंता, बलवान भुजाओं वाले इंद्र, हमारे यज्ञ में आकर प्रसन्न हों।
असूर्या नाम ते लोका अन्धेने तमसावृताः । तास्ते प्रेत्यापि गच्छन्ति ये के चात्महनो जनाः ॥३॥
Those who slay the Self, their worlds are covered by blinding darkness, and they go to such realms even after death.
आत्महत्या करने वाले लोग अंधकारमय लोकों में जाते हैं, जो घोर अंधकार से ढके हुए हैं।
